New graduates struggle at the critical juncture between school and starting a career

Many new graduates remain unemployed or underemployed for months or years post graduation and leave smaller communities looking for opportunities in large centers.

A young, underemployed Canadian will never make up for lost earnings or stunted career growth, and will struggle to repay student loans. When new graduates leave a community, that community loses critical talent required to sustain its workforce and retain its employers.

Empty Streets

This critical gap causes young talent and growing businesses to leave for major centres where new graduates are not effectively matched with local careers.

As a result, mid-sized communities are losing promising talent that could have been retained with awareness and support.

Without a robust workforce, communities struggle to attract and retain the businesses that they need to sustain and grow them.
